Executive Education

As part of our ongoing education mission, the Health IT program at the University of Texas at Austin feels an obligation to share our knowledge and resources with others in the Health IT community seeking to develop in their career paths.

With an expert faculty, a state of the art teaching facility as well as a “mock” physician clinic to teach and evaluate workflow processes, a computer learning lab with 6 electronic health record products for “hands-on” experience and a newly implemented health information exchange laboratory, we are equipped to help your executives and your organization improve their knowledge and understanding of the complex issues surrounding Health IT.

From a one day workshop to a one or two week comprehensive course we can design educational opportunities with content customized to meet your needs. Here’s how one executive felt about the training for his group:

"As you know, our team was looking for a way to get hands-on understanding of how healthcare is evolving in the area of information technology, and the program you and your team compiled and executed was perfect for our needs. The 3-day course you provided an ample opportunity to cover the most pressing issues in Healthcare Information Technology (HIT), such as Meaningful Use, its definition and the requirements regarding it, the ICD 10 conversion, the challenges and the opportunities of implementing electronic health records (EHRs) to the industry, how ARRA supports the acceleration of EHR implementation, the understanding of health information exchanges (HIES), including how they work and the potential favorable impact on the industry.

The flexibility of your team and their commitment to helping us achieve our goals were outstanding.

The other amazing part of the process to me is how well you and your team responded to the opportunity and delivered a program for our review very quickly. You communicated quickly at every juncture, and very clearly as to expectations and the logistics of the program. We look forward to continuing our relationship with [University of Texas-Austin]."
