background, your CV, GRE scores, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for three
references. You can apply through one of the following graduate groups:
Graduate students are typically supported through a combination of teaching assistantships,
fellowships, and graduate research assistantships. Prospective graduate students should
explore appropriate fellowship opportunities, including NSF Graduate Research Fellowships
(http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=6201).
Postdoctoral Researchers
Creative and energetic postdocs with mutual interests and a proven record of excellence are a
welcome addition to the lab. When I have grant funding to hire postdocs I will post the job ad.
I’m also happy to support fellowship applications and discuss writing collaborative proposals. If
you are interested in joining the lab, please send me a letter of interest, CV, representative
publications, and contact information for three references. Some potential funding sources for

Undergraduate Researchers
For enthusiastic and self-motivated students interested in independent research in ecology,
there are volunteer and course credit opportunities, as well as UT Coop Undergraduate
Research Fellowships (http://www.utexas.edu/research/admin/awards/). Additional opportunities
exist through summer research programs such as the REU program in Global Change
(http://www.esi.utexas.edu/research/reu/).
