Graduate Degrees

Graduate students in the Biological Sciences at the University of Texas apply for admission to one of the Graduate Programs:

Cell and Molecular Biology
Plant Biology
Ecology, Evolution and Behavior
Neuroscience
Microbiology

Prospective students should determine which program best fits their interests before application.

After admission, students spend the first year completing required coursework and doing short research projects - lab rotations - in several different labs with the goal of finding a faculty advisor and lab for their graduate research. The remaining years are devoted to completing an independent and original research project and fulfilling the requirements of the graduate program.
