Facilities

Many resources are provided through the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology.

The ICMB DNA and Genomics Facility provides DNA sequencing and fragment analysis, real-time PCR, automatic liquid handling, a plate reader, phosphor and fluor imaging, nanodrop spectrophotometers, a Bioanalyzer and other equipment.

The ICMB Microscopy and Imaging Facility provides instruments and instruction for light and electron microscopy.

The ICMB Protein Microanalysis Facility provides protein sequencing and protein identification services, peptide synthesis, and related services.

The Mass Spectrometry Analytical Facility provides state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and related services.

The Animal Resources Center (ARC) provides housing for a variety of animals used in research programs. In addition to the caging areas, there are surgical suites and laboratories.

The Mouse Genetic Engineering Facility is located in the ARC and provides services for the production of genetically altered mice.

The UT Microarray Facility provides equipment and instruction for microarray analysis.

The Macromolecular Crystallography Facility provides equipment for determination of structures by X-ray dffraction methods. The facility will expand with additional instrumentation and will offer instruction as well as structural analysis as a service.

The Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics provides research support and opportunities for researchers interested in the use of computational approaches in solving biological problems.
