1- In vivo electroporation of mouse midbrain with GFP. Using this technique, we can misexpress any gene of interest at a specific time and location in the brain.

2A- Over expression of Sonic hedgehog causes an increase in the number of oculomotor neurons (right) compared to the control side (left)..

2B- Overexpression of Sonic Hedgehog causes the extrusion of an ectopic oculomotor nerve (arrow) from the midbrain.

3- In vivo knockdown of GLI2 using unilateral RNA interference. Note that compared to the control (left) side, GLI2 mrRNA levels are lowered on the right and the gene FOXA2 is upregulated (arrowhead).
