(White) Catclaw Mimosa, Mimosa aculeaticarpa

Our single white-flowered catclaw mimosa (M. aculeaticarpa
var. biuncifera [earlier M. biuncifera]) is from a seed collected in
Santa Elena Canyon in the Big Bend in the late 1970s. It is now some 9
feet tall, almost tree-like in form, with long lateral branches off its
main trunk. It produces beautiful white flowers in mid-to-late
summer. If better known, it would certainly merit propagation as a
native ornamental.
