Application Information

Apply online at Texas Common Application. The Microbiology major code is 667500.  

Please submit your application by December 1, 2012 for admission to the doctoral program in Microbiology in Fall 2013.  UT-Austin does not have a master's program in Microbiology.

Application fee
You can pay by Visa or MasterCard when you fill out your online application.
The application processing fee for U.S. applicants is $65.00 and International applicants who have not previously been enrolled at the University must pay a nonrefundable processing fee of $90.00.

Students who reside in the US or Canada are eligible for an application fee waiver.

Materials to be sent to the Graduate and International Admissions Center

1. Application (online)
2. Three letters of recommendation, preferably from professors or advisors (on the online form)
3. Application fee (on the online form)
4. Personal statement of purpose (on the online form)
5. Official transcripts from ALL universities and colleges attended (online)
6. Official GRE scores (UT Austin code: 6882, no department code is necessary) sent by ETS5. Official TOEFL scores for International students (UT Austin code: 6882) sent by ETS. If you hold bachelor's degrees from a U.S. institution or from an institution in another English-only speaking country, you will receive a waiver of the TOEFL.
